A Plan for All Participants
Prior to executing your race plan, make sure you take care of business. Here are some tips to eliminate those last minute distractions:
- Pack your bag the night before with all the gear and accessories needed for race day. Suggested items include:
- Towel, change of clothes and shoes
- Non friction gel (glide/sport, slick/Vaseline)
- Timing chip/runner number
- Favourite post race snack (something you are used to consuming following a workout or race)
- Extra safety pins
- Follow our Medical Team's advice on our web site www.runottawa.ca as it pertains to fluid consumption prior to and during the race. Become familiar with the location of our fluid, sponge and gel stations along the route. The furthest distance between fluid stations is 3.5 kilometres.
- Inform family and friends where to meet afterwards if they are coming to watch you at the finish line. Only runners are allowed inside the Metro Recovery Area inside Confederation Park.
- Arrive at least 45 minutes prior to start time. Give yourself ample time to utilize the portable toilets, drop your bag off at the Sweat Check tent and get properly seeded in your start line corral.
